In the aftermath of the violent and bloody escape from the manufacturing centre after uncovering the plot concocted by Murdoch and Pierce, Cara seeks refuge in a forest near the border.
Emotionally shaken, confused and with an unconscious Pierce in the back. John encourages Cara to use the situation to her advantage to uncover the truth about what is really happening in the quarantine zone.
Pessimistic, Cara makes her way to the manufacturing centre for her shift and to recieve her dose of the anti serum. But when she arrives something feels off, but John reassures her that its natural to feel anxious at such an uncertain time.
After making her way into the centre Cara follows her instincts much to Johns reluctance and begins to investigate, not knowing what she is about to uncover.
The population outside the quarantine zone is divided on the issue. Some sit and pray for a solution while others use the situation to push their own anti immunization agenda. This has caused massive political discussion and divide in the government as well as in the general public.
The situation is made more sensitive with the participation of Haven Global, a private security firm that has been bolstering the forces and medical capability of the United kingdom since the disease arrived. Beating their competition for contracts in all major sectors and having signifigant influence in the government, many are now asking just how Haven are doing it all?
With the distribution of the new anti serum about to begin, head of security for Haven's U.K operation David Pierce is summoned to London, to meet the man responsible for Haven's steady rise to power.
Cara is one of several people forced into the quarantine zone after the governments vaccine starts to become redundant against the new strain of the virus. Separated from her partner Anna, Cara is isolated, lonely and forced to watch the world outside the zones borders carry on as normal while she pines for her life to return to what it was.
Finding herself working all hours in the new manufacturing centres set up in the zone, the only outside contact she has is with a man by the name of John who she befriended not long after her relationship with Anna fell apart, speaking with him every day by phone as a way to keep in touch with the outside world as well as acting as her mentor and therapist during these difficult times.
When the government finally develops a breakthrough and announces that a new serum has finally been created, Cara remains skeptical but tries to look forward to the thought of finally being reunited with Anna again.
