I was therefore thrilled to be joined by Ekta whose entrepreneurial spirit and love of fashion were combined to create a unique business in South Africa. EKTA meaning Unity in Sanskrit is a contemporary luxury womenswear label launched in September 2016 by founder and designer Ekta Kalan, a former strategy consultant turned entrepreneur.

Forging a unity amongst the designer’s rich cultural Indian heritage, her South African life together with architectural and simplistic design the brand has become known for its unique use of colour, prints and clean lines.
