Welcome to this episode of Prim Rose Light where I am joined by David Koeher. David had an MSc in Psychology. Then worked for a film production company for a year before moving to the Legal 500 where he worked on the guides, wrote of Legal Business and In-House Lawyer Magazine and put together a number of Legal 500 podcast episodes. Then moved to the marketing and business development department at Weil for a year and a half. In January, he set up The Marketing Legal which assists law firms around the world with directories and content marketing and set up The Thinking Legal podcast, which focuses on human and psychological issues in the legal sector. Please do check out his podcast which can be found on all main channels including Spotify and Apple podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-thinking-legal/id1747748757
In this episode we discussed what does it mean to work in legal marketing, how does the study of psychology interact with the law? Are there particular characteristics which demark lawyers and why are DEI so important for law firms and companies to pay attention to. David also talks about his experience as a gay man and how to scan for employers that will be a good fit for people.
In this episode I am delighted to be joined by Clare Beresford. Clare and I both love speaking on psychology and all things people and culture. As such, it was a joy to discuss what is good culture, learning more about the work that is happening in the 30% club for DEI especially seeking gender parity and encouraging minority groups to shine. We also discussed how to thrive in a professional setting, but also dispel that its ok, to just be ok, and enforce boundaries (whether you work in law or otherwise)! There is room for all professions to thrive and we must make it our mission to welcome all to take some responsibility. This will have a profound impact on morale and wellbeing, as well as aiding in productivity. We also discuss what does good leadership look like, what is the difference between mentorship and sponsorship as well as how you can find your champions.
If anyone feels inspired and would like to reach out to Clare or a member of her team to support with any recruitment conversations, please feel free to email her on: [email protected]
In this episode, I am delighted to be joined by Clare Beresford. We discuss and unpack what does it mean to have boundaries at work, what does good culture look like is it ok, to be ok/average, especially in competitive industries such as law? We also discuss important DEI topics including how we can achieve greater gender parity and increase mobility for other minority group. Clare is very well placed to advise and talk about this given her career and additional roles.
