Welcome to the strike edition of ‘All Things History with UMHiSA’ in collaboration with Students Supporting UMFA (SSUMFA).

In this episode, co-hosts Olivia Macdonald Mager and Hannah Belec speak with three members of SSUMFA: Fardeen Zareef, Mads Meyer-Parr, and Jayden Walker. The panel discusses the history of labour strikes at the University of Manitoba, the formation of SSUMFA, and the impact of the strike on students’ lives and studies at the U of M.The panel also discusses the U of M administration’s current bargaining position regarding the University of Manitoba Faculty Association (UMFA), their public relations strategy aimed towards students and media, and the Government of Manitoba’s current policy position concerning postsecondary education.
