The pair discuss Professor Thorpe’s Canadian Social History course and her approaches to social history in both her teaching and research. They also speak on Canadian social issues, like colonialism, with a critical race, power, feminist, and environmental lens.

Welcome to the fourth episode of ‘All Things History with UMHiSA’!

In this episode, host Olivia Macdonald Mager, speaks to Associate Professor Greg Bak, the sole professor of Archival Studies at the University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg Joint Master’s Program in History. The pair discuss dominant trends within archival studies, including processes of archival decolonization and the role of digital archives in an increasingly digital world.
