In this podcast I will play both the original demo and released version of the song "Realize" which was featured on Kate Fletcher's 2009 independent release. This song was special as it was my first cut with an independent artist that was being scouted by major labels and was working with Grammy Winning producers and hit writers. The two versions show how close you, as a songwriter, should strive, in representing your song, so that the artist is compelled to copy it best they can. Diane Warren famously said in an interview that her demos were better than the released version. Keep that in mind.
