This is episode 7, for March 2022. I hope you've been enjoying my stories, poems and talks. If so, please subscribe or rate the show. You could even leave a review if you like. (Thank you, Sendam, I hope that the sound quality has improved enough for you and that you're still enjoying the episodes!)
I introduce Mary Stewart, a writer of fiction that features strong central female characters. I read some extracts from her books that were written mid-century and share why I enjoy them. I also read a poem, by me, inspired by the piles of books all over my house, an extract of an adventure story of my own that features a strong female lead. And, an extract of a time slip story, written long ago by me.
I'll give rough timings here so you can listen to which bits you'd like.
1min; Hollie and Brian poem
Next; Talk about books and film versions and inspirations
6min 'The Start' story extract
