The boys are handed the keys to the 2021 BMW M3 Competition and take it for a drive. It's a thumbs up with some caveats - plenty of room inside with all the usual BMW switchgear, the steering is great, the gearbox an improvement over the old DCT but the sound is a little muted. During the drive we test the hands free capabilities with a call to BMW's Bradford Berry. He explains to us that the car is not run in and requires a first service to unlock launch control. Peter and Halil drive a 1985 Holden Commodore SS Grp A affectionately known as the Blue Meanie. David, a listener of the podcast, invited Peter Ross and Halil to drive his Porsche Taycan 4S. We drove it slowly, we drove it quickly and it performed like a Porsche. A surpirse Tesla turned up and the Porsche spoiled the party. Peter performed a launch control start and experienced the change in gears in an electric car. The optional steering wheel feels like alcantara but is made from recyclable fishing wire. During Ross' turn to drive he tails a police car. The verdict - Porsche has brought a gun to a Tesla knife fight!!! Follow us on Instagram and email us [email protected]
