  • Telling the Truth is a Crime: Why Julian Assange and Other Brave Journalists are Under Attack

In the World Press Freedom Day panel, we intend to talk about Julian Assange who has been in prison for the last four years and has been involved in the struggle against his extradition to the US. As we understand, this situation has arisen because of his role in unmasking the US and the west imperialist onslaught in Iraq and Afghanistan by releasing and publishing the war crimes documents and videos committed by the US defence forces. In the similar way, we find journalists who show courage and stand to expose the state's role in any grave issue, being attacked everywhere in the world.
