  • S1E14: allegedly, we're keepin' it real?! vol. 2

In S1E14 of allegedly?!, we run back the realness of this season. Like our last “keepin’ it real” episode, we dive into a fun conversation about life, ourselves, the experiences we’ve been having, and the lessons we’ve been learning.

As we chat about the lessons we’ve learned throughout this past life cycle (ty Scorpio Full Moon), we dive into the behaviors and aspects of ourselves that stem from our childhood experiences and the realizations we’ve come to from doing that inner-child work. Beyond that, we get into our feelings about the continuous journey of self-improvement, growth, healing, the ‘good’ sides, and the potentially ‘bad’ sides!

In pretty perfect timing for the Taurus New Moon a couple of days ago, we end the conversation touching on radical self-love, what it means, and ways to practice self-love and care! We hope y’all enjoy the conversation!

  • S1E13: allegedly, money... is a mindset?!

In S1E13 of allegedly?!, we talk about moneyyyy! *cha ching* During today’s episode, we unpack what it means to have a healthy relationship with money, as well as cultivate a mindset of abundance. We talk about how our society shapes our relationship with money and as a result, the importance of cultivating your own independent thought.

We explore how the labels of “rich” and “poor” affect how all of us navigate our society’s socioeconomic landscape, like how we relate to others, what we invest our energies into, and how we think about ourselves. Furthermore, how does being anti-capitalist shape the way we interact with money? Tap into the conversation!

  • S1E12: allegedly, monogamy isn't it?!

In S1E12 of allegedly?!, we talk about relationships. Specifically, romantic versus platonic ones. In one of our recent viral TikToks, we asked thought-provoking questions on what actual distinction exists between romantic and platonic relationships. This TikTok started some pretty remarkable dialogue, and we created this episode to really dive in. We all know our society puts an emphasis on romantic relationships. We discuss exactly why that is, and more importantly, question if this societal norm is something that we want to subscribe to as we navigate the relationships in our life. Is this prioritization of romantic relationships something organic to our nature as human beings? Is it a pervasive social norm that has just been force-fed to us since we were children? Join us as we touch on a bunch of topics related to relationships, ranging from energy exchanges to shared value systems!

  • S1E11: allegedly, they're not all that different?!

In S1E11 of allegedly?!, we discuss science, spirituality, and religion, with no true answers, but just what we hope to be thought-inspiring dialogue. Throughout this episode, we touch on all the connections and contradictions within science, religions, and spirituality. For so long, we’ve seen these particular topics be used to pit human beings against each other, but could there actually be more similarities than differences? We know every person has their practice that they subscribe to in order to connect to the Divine. At the end of the day, everybody is tryna go to Heaven, everyone wants peace, joy, freedom, and love.... or so we hope?! So whyyyy all the beef?! Let’s talk about it!

  • S1E10: allegedly, beauty is truly pain?!

In S1E10 of allegedly?!, we talk about beauty and desirability! Specifically, we talk about all the ways beauty has been rendered as a tool of violence. We set out to explore the ways beauty has served to only strengthen the holds that fatphobia, colorism, ableism, ageism, and many other -isms and -phobias have in our society, while also recognizing the role we have in upholding beauty standards that not only inflict violence on those around us but also ourselves. However, in recognizing that, how do we move forward? How do we honor the beauty in ourselves and everything that surrounds us, despite acknowledging the ways in which the very concept of beauty has been used to enact so much harm?! Tap into the conversation and let’s unpack it!

In S1E9 of allegedly?!, we talk about the role of the university in our communities and in our daily lives. Using our alma mater, Washington University in St. Louis, as an example, we take a deep dive into the way the university operates and functions as a microcosm of society at large. In a packed 27 minutes, we touch on everything from suspicious establishments, what it means to enter marginalized communities as a university student, the oppressive dynamics within the college campus, our frustrations with performative activism, and so much more! What are the effects of a university's situation within marginalized communities? What does it mean to stand in solidarity with our peers and with our university neighbors? Let’s talk about it!

  • S1E8: allegedly, they're poisoning our food?!

In S1E8 of allegedly?!, we talk about our food. Where does it come from? How does it affect our bodies, our land, and our communities? We know food shapes numerous aspects of our everyday lives, from how we view ourselves, to how we view the people around us. We interrogate just exactly how food really has a hand in every sphere of our society, and therefore, our lives. Everything from our politics, to our spiritual practice, to our environment, to our bodily health, and even our perceptions of others, is affected by our food, and we’re here to talk about exactly that!

  • S1E7: allegedly, we're keepin' it real?!

In S1E7 of allegedly?!, we go deeeeep. Quarantine has pushed the both of us to really look inward and taught us many lessons about radical self-love and our romantic and platonic relationships. Becoming more self-aware of our projections on others and doing shadow work also helped us grow tremendously over the past 5 months, and we wanna talk about it to encourage others to start their own self-growth journeys! Join us as we talk about our astro big three, speak honestly and candidly about our personal growth experiences, and discuss both the highs and lows of the process (cause we only keep it 100% with y’all)!
