What’s going on, everybody? Welcome back to the podcast. I wanted to sit down today and just be completely transparent with y'all about a heavy decision we've been carrying in our home. As a husband, one of the hardest things in the world is watching your wife suffer in her body and feeling like your hands are tied. Eve has been battling severe gut issues, recovering from a terrible gastritis flare-up, and trying to heal her body after dealing with H. pylori for years. But looking at the timeline and everything she’s going through, I truly believe deep down that her Mirena IUD is destroying her health and keeping her sick.
In this episode, we open up about the raw conversation that brought us to this point. We officially scheduled the appointment for November 10th to have it removed, but walking up to that date comes with some very real fear. Eve is terrified of going back to the extreme PMS, the night sweats, and being bedridden upstairs unable to function or care for our children while I'm at work. We talk openly about the fear of an unplanned pregnancy, navigating intimacy, and the spiritual struggle of balancing faith in Jesus Christ with medical wisdom without feeling condemned. I want to lead my family with sound wisdom, not my emotions, and we take all our fears straight to the Lord in prayer at the end. Thank y'all so much for the love, the prayers, and the support. Remember, marriage is not a game!

Allowing the wrong voices into your relationship can quietly destroy trust before you even realize what happened. In this episode, Eve and I get completely real about why letting outside opinions—whether from family, coworkers, or close friends—can plant dangerous seeds of doubt and suspicion about your spouse’s character. We break down the real dangers of oversharing your personal disagreements, how outside advice caused friction before we even got married, how to identify true Holy Spirit–led counsel, and the boundaries every couple must build to protect their covenant.

Can you deeply love your spouse and still overlook their needs without realizing it? In this honest conversation, we dive into what it really means to prioritize your marriage and protect your emotional connection. It’s easy to be physically present in the room while being emotionally checked out, or to give all your best energy to work, friends, and outside responsibilities while only bringing home your leftovers.
We talk about the danger of growing distant, navigating chronic illness and loss of desire, and why breaking negative cycles requires daily, intentional effort. We also share practical ways we stay connected amidst the chaos of raising five kids—from simple 10-minute check-ins to intentional moments of touch, conversation, and grace. If you are ready to stop making excuses, tear down emotional barriers, and choose your spouse every single day, this episode is for you.

When physical intimacy slows or stops in a marriage, it is easy for frustration, emotional withdrawal, and silent resentment to take root. But the bedroom is a mirror. In this episode, we sit down for an open, unvarnished conversation about navigating sexless seasons, unpacking the hidden emotional barriers wives carry, and confronting the entitlement that can creep into a husband's heart.
True connection cannot be built on quid pro quo affection or pressure. Walking through Ephesians 5:25, 1 Peter 3:7, and Hebrews 12:15, we break down why emotional safety is the foundation of physical intimacy, what it truly means to lighten your spouse's daily load, and how to pursue your partner's heart without keeping score.
Whether you are currently walking through a dry season or fighting to protect your covenant from bitterness, this discussion offers raw honesty, practical wisdom, and biblical encouragement to help you lead with Christlike selflessness and mutual grace.

Are you giving your best energy to your job, friends, and outside commitments while leaving your marriage with the leftovers?
Marriage is your first ministry, yet it is often the easiest place to withhold grace, keep score, and prioritize your own pride. When conflict hits, human nature wants to defend self rather than serve the other person. But if Christ came to serve, how can believers justify withholding service from their own spouse?
In this episode, we break down what genuine, biblical servanthood looks like inside marriage—especially when emotions run hot, frustrations mount, and one partner is falling short. Serving isn’t about being a doormat or manipulating an outcome; it is intentional humility, picking up the slack without complaining, and warring for your spouse in prayer instead of tearing them down. Tune in as we confront selfish mindsets, examine the practical steps to diffuse defensiveness, and refocus on building a unified, God-centered covenant.

Infidelity isn't the only thing tearing relationships apart—often, the quiet killer creeping into homes is pure exhaustion and burnout. In this episode of the Allen & Eve Podcast, we dive deep into the reality of what it actually takes to fight for your marriage and run a household as a true team.
Marriage is not a game, and responsibilities do not stop at the front door. Even when one partner works a 9-to-5 outside the house, and the other manages the home and children full-time, labor should never be treated as one-sided. Your primary job isn’t the paycheck—it’s your marriage and family. When a spouse is left with zero support, feeling like a single parent inside a partnership, resentment builds, leading to emotional burnout and broken homes.
From stepping in without being asked—washing dishes, folding laundry, sweeping up—to getting out of the house for fresh air and protecting each other's mental health, we unpack the daily work, prayer, and mutual honor required to keep a household thriving.

Leaving church wasn’t about walking away from God—it was about protecting our marriage and family from toxic, unchecked church leadership. In this episode of the Allen & Eve Podcast, we have an unfiltered conversation breaking down the dark side of church leadership we personally experienced and why we no longer attend a traditional church building.
From financial manipulation and money-grabbing tactics on the pulpit to secretive scandals, false prophetic claims, and leadership unaccountability, we dig into the real reasons behind church hurt and spiritual fatigue. We aren't here to bash the Body of Christ; we are here to expose the difference between man-made religious cliques and true biblical headship in marriage and faith.

We’re back, and to be completely honest, I owe y’all an explanation. In this episode, I’m putting my pride aside and confessing the mistake I made that caused us to pause the show in the first place. I thought I was making a smart move by stepping into the background and putting all the focus solely on my wife, but I was wrong. I made sudden moves without real communication, expected Eve to just follow along, and ended up leaving her stressed, confused, and hurt. We’re having an open, unfiltered conversation about where I messed up, how we worked through the frustration, and why marriage isn't a game you can play by your own rules.

Everything we tackle here will be anchored firmly in God's Word, because He designed relationships and His Word is our ultimate foundation.
Tune in as we lay out what’s ahead, why the mission remains unchanged, and how we can grow closer to Christ and healthier in our relationships together.

Hey everybody! Welcome back to the Allen & Eve Podcast! Come on in, bring it in, and join the family. Today, we are tackling a super hot, highly requested topic in marriage: Is it okay to compliment other people when you're married?
Every marriage is built on unique boundaries, personalities, and seasons. In this episode, we open up about our own dynamic—where Eve is naturally outgoing and encouraging, while Allen takes a more laid-back, hyper-focused approach. We dive deep into why intent versus impact matters, how unaddressed insecurities or past traumas affect boundaries, and why your spouse should NEVER feel like they're competing for your attention.
At the end of the day, it's all about doing the work, honoring your covenant, and ensuring that the love, grace, and encouragement you give out to the world starts right at home first. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and let's grow together!

Welcome to the Allen & Eve Podcast!
We’re a Christian married couple having real, open conversations about life, marriage, relationships, family, faith, and everything in…
As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe God’s Word should be the foundation of our lives and marriage, so we try to look at what we talk about from a biblical perspective. But listen… we’re sinners too! We might not always get it right; we might get a little in our flesh sometimes, and we definitely won’t always agree. 😂
And that’s okay — because these are real conversations between a real husband and wife.
We’re here to talk, laugh, disagree, share what we’ve learned, and work through some of the same things other couples and families are dealing with every day.
We don’t know where every conversation will take us, but we hope you’ll join us for the journey.
This is Allen & Eve. Let’s talk about it.
