Alliance Blog Podcast: Interviews with Independent Wrestlers and Wrestling Personalities

The NWA that existed 15 years ago was slightly different, from the vessel you see these days. One of the standard-bearers of that time and space was Chance Prophet. Early in his career appearing in the early days of TNA at the Assylum and working several NWA Wildside Tapings, things seem to be progressing for the young man from Logan, West Virginia. Prophet would be in the middle of the first of two, National Championship runs when an injury would put him on the shelf and he would be stripped of the National Championship. The Dark Child would reinvent himself. A new Chance Prophet would emerge. This Chance Prophet would become the first-ever NWA DAWG Champion, NWA Ring Warriors Bahamian Champion, and eventually, he would regain his cherished NWA National Championship.  All the while, Chance Prophet was blazing a path in promotions not affiliated with the NWA, like MPW, ASW, Remix Pro, and IWA East Coast On this episode of Sessions with Jay Cal, we’ll speak to the 2 times former National Champion. We’ll get his thoughts on the NWA of yesteryear. We’ll also check in to see where Chance Prophet is wrestling these days and how you can follow his career currently.

On this episode of the alliance guys podcast, we will discuss Taryn Terrell’s big announcement, Colby Corino pulling double duty working both USA and POWERRR, the USA debut of a former NXT Superstar, AJ Cazana making his POWERRR debut, and the results of TEAM WAR.

We will also break down the news and information coming out of the National Wrestling Alliance. We’ll also recap, review, retcon, and reconsider all things USA and POWERRR.

But we will also discuss the implications of the World Title match announcement. As well as discuss the latest additions to the Alwayz Ready PPV.

Programing note… the Alliance Blog YouTube Channel has reached 987 subscribers. And as such… we’re on the road to 1K.

Less than a month separates us from the next NWA PPV Alwayz Ready. With much of the match announcements being made, the question that is on everyone’s mind is… who can take the Burke, off of Kamille. She calls herself the “One Time Champion,” but the reality is, can anyone prove her wrong?

Plus we will recap NWA POWERRR and NWA USA.  What did you think of the show? Join us and share your thoughts!

The National Wrestling Alliance saw a resurgence in membership when they split from Impact Wrestling. One area that blossomed was the Midsouth Region. The Territories in that area were packed with talent. One such talent was the man who put Tatter Peeler, Tennessee on the map. Jeremiah Plunkett held no less than 5 NWA sanctioned championships from 2008 to 2017 under the old territory system. You can add another seven championships that Plunkett held that were affiliated with the NWA at that time.

Plunkett made his return to the NWA in 2019 at the NWA Pop Up event New Year's Clash on January 5th, 2019. Due to the pandemic pause, Plunkett wouldn't make his debut in the NWA for two more years at NWA POWERRR Episode 23.

On this episode of the Sessions with Jay Cal, we will discuss wrestling in the Mid South. We’ll discuss SAW, We'll talk about his time as the NWA Cyberslam Heavyweight Champion. Working in the NWA collectives from NWA Main Event, NWA Chattanooga, USWO, NWA SAW, NWA Top Rope, and NWA New South. We'll also discuss his NWA Australian Championship Victory and what it meant for him to be able to travel to the land down under. We'll also discuss that faithful night in the SAW MILL where he faced Satoshi Kojima for the Ten Pounds of Gold.

Papo Esco is your United Wrestling Network Television Champion. Touching down in the United Wrestling Network during the middle of a Global Pandemic, the Beast from the Bodega gravitated toward fellow Puerto Rican Danny Limelight. Forming the Bodega. The pair would win the UWN World Tag Team Championships. After losing the tag team titles a newly refocused Esco set his sights on the United TV Championship. On May 17th he’ll be back in Irvine to defend his TV Championship. Esco will be competing at PCW's Ragnar on Friday, May 13th.

Papo has also been holding it down in Northern California both for All Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Revolution, where he currently holds their Open Weight Championship.
