Anne Steele lived between the time of Isaac Watts and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. She was one of the first well known female hymn writers. Her hymns are filled with such intensity and deep theological content. The Church today needs more Anne Steele! Today we are singing a retune of one of her hymns, "Almighty, Sovereign, Gracious Lord.
