Although we know that we will experience loss at some point in our lives or even if we've already experienced it, dealing with grief is something we rarely know how to do. In Diana Curtis' case, she started figuring out how to deal with her mother's death almost five decades after it happened, when she was three. After attending a spiritual retreat in Atlanta, she started asking herself questions that led to a journey of healing where she began to uncover the layers of pain.
Joining us today is the wonderful Diana Curtis, CEO and Founder of Coaching to the Heart, Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist, and host of the Growing Through Grief podcast. Diana worked at the Center for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) for over 30 years; she is a Certified Meditation Teacher, a Spiritual Life Coach, a Bachelor of Divinity from the Universal Brotherhood Movement, Inc. She also graduated from the Inner Vision Institute for Spiritual Development.
In this episode, Diana shared with us her knowledge and experience about grief, how to deal with it, and the effects of allowing it to be part of our lives. We talked about her life and her relationship with grief, her journey of healing, and the difference a grief specialist can make in someone's life. Diana kindly shared the top three tips to deal with grief appropriately and what it meant to her to "do the work" of dealing with her grieving process.
