Sufi Spiritualist Younus Algohar explains the importance and necessity of Zikar Allah (invocation of God) as a fardh (obligation in Islam. He also discusses how exactly Salat is established per God’s instructions.

- Do not ever compare Salat with Zikar Allah because both are obligations in the religion. You have to do both at the same time. Salat is a timely obligation and Zikar Allah in the heart is an eternal obligation.

'Zikar Allah is the first of all obligations.’ - Prophetic Tradition

- Zikar Allah is the greatest invocation and it is first of the Five Pillars in Islam. Zikar is a vast field; therefore Zikar Allah is both an obligation (fardh) and additional worship (nafl) depending on how you do it. Zikar Allah is a type of obligation which can only be fulfilled when it is performed by your heart. If you do it with your tongue, it is additional worship. When Zikar Allah is done by the tongue only without the heart’s involvement, the obligatory aspect of Zikar Allah is not fulfilled and you cannot progress on to the next obligatory element in the religion.

- Initially, the Companions of Prophet Mohammad did not perform Salat. For the first few years, they engaged their bodies, tongues, hearts, souls and Lower Selves in Zikar Allah. Once their Lower Selves and hearts were purified through Zikar Allah, they became Mutakee (Pure Ones) and Salat was made obligatory upon them. Salat was only introduced after the Night of Ascension.

- Today’s Muslims does not know how to become a devout Muslim. If you jump straight to the performance of Salat without first fulfilling the obligation of Zikar Allah, your performance of Salat will not benefit you. According to the Koran, Salat is like a spiritual medicine. When it is accepted by God, it heals you of your inner sins and evil traits - like arrogance, deceit, jealousy and greed. If your Salat is duly accepted by God on a daily basis, you will see a change in your character in a month’s time.

'There is no Salat without the presence of the heart.' - Prophetic Tradition

- The reason your Salat is not changing your character or removing your inner vices is that you are performing it without the presence of the heart. Presence of the heart - which you would have had if you had brought ZIkar Allah in the heart - is the most crucial element in Salat. Without it, you will perform Salat and begin to have delusions of being better than everybody else. But with the presence of the heart, divine energy will keep your heart occupied with God's presence. It will be your heart that will transport your Salat to God.

'Establish your prayers for the advancement of my Zikar.' - Koran 20:14

- What does it mean to establish Salat? Your body performs ruku (bowing down), sujood (prostration) and qa'ad during Salat; your tongue engages itself with the recitation of the Holy Koran; the heart conforms to what you are saying with the tip of your tongue. This performance of Salat generates divine energy which is stored in the heart. When it is stored in the heart, this is the establishment of Salat. Then, Zikar Allah in the heart will bloom even more.

Are pictures haram (forbidden) in Islam? This video is Sayyidi Younus AlGohar’s definitive answer to this hotly debated question.

Summary:

- There were no cameras in the era of Prophet Mohammad, so how can pictures be forbidden? If something is forbidden in the religion, there is some wisdom behind it; God does not make restrictions in religion for no reason.

- Making idols was common in the previous eras. They would also use brushes or other tools to paint images on walls. Those painted images would be of the idols. What the Prophet declared prohibited were those idols and the painted images of those idols.

- The pictures which are taken by cameras today are not made by your hands. Rather, the camera captures the lights and shadows on the person whose picture is being taken. The camera catches the image of people which is made by God; it is not manmade. And if you do have any pictures of yourself, it is not as if people are worshipping it. Whereas in the past, people would worship those idols and their colourful hand-painted images as their God.

- Listening to today’s religious clerics is folly. For example, Molvi Ilyas of the Dawat-e-Islami said that TV is prohibited, so all his followers destroyed their television sets. After that, he made his own TV channel - even though he had said that TVs are prohibited. Fazl-ur-Rehman, a Wahhabi cleric, also said that pictures are prohibited. And now, he is also coming on TV and his pictures are being taken. Their statements change like the weather.

- There are pictures and videos of everything today. When people go for the pilgrimage of Hajj, that is also shown live on television. How can a picture be logically prohibited?

- God has mentioned his attribute of 'Musawwir (One who makes images)’ in the Koran. In the Kanz ul Emaan - the translation of the Koran done by Aala Hazrat - it is stated in the explanation where the Ark of the Covenant is mentioned that there are images of various prophets in the Ark of the Covenant created by Solomon, the Prophet. Obviously, he would have made those images by hand; if making those images was prohibited then why would a prophet of God do it?

Sayyidi Younus AlGohar answers a question from a viewer who asked how Owais Qarni was a Companion of the Prophet Mohammad. Sayyidi explains how Owais Qarni was the most eminent of all the Companions.

Summary:

- The religious clerics say that Owais Qarni was from the Tabieen (second-generation followers). A 'Tabay' is one who did not live in Prophet Mohammad's time; rather he lived in the time of the Companions and accepted Islam through them. The people who accepted Islam through the Tabieen came to be known as the 'Taba Tabieen'. However, nobody went to Owais Qarni in Yemen with the message of Islam, therefore he does not fit in the categories of Tabieen or Taba Tabieen.

- It was Prophet Mohammad who told Umar and Ali to go to Yemen, where Owais Qarni was. He said, ‘There is a man who loves me rapturously there. Give him my Jubba.’ When they asked Prophet Mohammad how they would recognise Owais Qarni, Prophet Mohammad said there was a white mark on his hand. Just imagine what his connection with Prophet Mohammad must be like!

- Out of all the Companions of Prophet Mohammad, Owais Qarni was the only one to be granted spiritual benevolence and company of Prophet Mohammad’s soul. And the company of the soul that was available to him was such that he and Prophet Mohammad knew each other's physical features. This is why we don't just consider Owais Qarni to be a Companion - rather, he is the greatest Companion.

- When you enter your grave, the angels will show you an image of Prophet Mohammad and ask you what your tenet and conjecture was about him. This means that the angels understand that every member of Prophet Mohammad's Nation will have seen Prophet Mohammad. And there is no condition as to whether you saw Prophet Mohammad physically or spiritually.

HDE Gohar Shahi said, 'One cannot become a member of Prophet Mohammad's Nation without seeing Prophet Mohammad.'

- Whether or not you were born in the era of Prophet Mohammad, as a member of Prophet Mohammad's Nation, you are bound to see Prophet Mohammad. When you learn how to become a member of the Nation, then during those lessons, there will be a chapter on seeing Prophet Mohammad as well. A member of Prophet Mohammad Nation will absolutely see Prophet Mohammad during his lifetime, even if it right before he dies.

Sayyidi Younus AlGohar explains why it is nearly impossible in this day and age to recognise Imam Mehdi in light of the Prophetic Traditions. He reveals the role of God’s signs.

Summary:

- There is a huge question mark about the authenticity of Prophetic Traditions. There are over 73 sects in Islam and each carries its own set of Prophetic Traditions. The public doesn't know which Prophetic Traditions have been removed and which have been published in the books compiled by the religious scholars.

- Some Wahhabis do not believe in the concept of Imam Mehdi; they say that there is no mention of Him in the Prophetic Traditions. They rather state that there would be an end-times caliph. Other religious scholars are convinced of Imam Mehdi’s advent and they cite various Prophetic Traditions when talking about Imam Mehdi. The Sunnis and Barelvis have a concept of Imam Mehdi but they do not emphasise it. The concept of Imam Mehdi is very important in Shiism.

- The common factor in all of these sects is that not a single one of them has access to spiritual knowledge. There were some people among the Sunnis who accepted spiritual knowledge, however, the campaign run by Tahir ul Qadri and his organisation, Minhaj ul Quran, destroyed their faith.

- In the beginning, Tahir ul Qadri spoke about spirituality, Faqr (Spiritual Poverty), Dhikr (invocation) and Dhikr-e-Qalb (The Opening of the Spiritual Heart). But people started to ask him to help them become saints of God. He did not have sainthood, so in order to save face, he started to project a definition of sainthood which was confined to exoteric knowledge, outer worship and Sharia. He destroyed the philosophy of how one becomes a true disciple of Ghous Pak (Abdul Qadir Jilani). He a severe blasphemer of Ghous Pak and Imam Mehdi. He misguided people when he saw that His Divine Eminence Imam Mehdi Gohar Shahi's fame was spreading.

- In jealousy and fear, he made up dreams and told people them. He claimed that Imam Mehdi's advent would take place after 800 years. Then when he did not manage to turn people against HDE Gohar Shahi, he claimed that he had a dream in which he saw Imam Mehdi before him and he saw Jesus descend from the sky. And in his dream, Imam Mehdi told him that all the current and future members of his organisation would be included among the followers of Imam Mehdi. If people living 800 years before Imam Mehdi's advent could become followers of Imam Mehdi, then people living 1000 years before His advent can also be Imam Mehdi's followers. Then why did Moula Ali said he would have spent his entire life in Imam Mehdi’s servitude if he was born in Imam Mehdi’s era?

- Imam Jafar Sadiq was very strict in regards to the authenticity of Prophetic Traditions. He said, ‘Check to see if the Prophetic Tradition that contradicts the Koran; if it does, throw it against the wall because it cannot be a saying of Prophet Mohammad.’ There are so many Prophetic Traditions; you will never be able to recognise Imam Mehdi in light of these Prophetic Traditions. How would you recognise Imam Mehdi when you haven’t been able to become Devout Believers in light of the Koran and Prophetic Traditions?

- HDE Gohar Shahi said, ‘When the Prophetic Traditions became subject to adulteration and it becomes almost impossible for the world to recognise the truth in light of the Prophetic Traditions then God manifested his signs [so they could recognise the truth].' Then HDE Imam Mehdi Gohar Shahi said that when a sign from God is freshly manifested, then it has upper hand over the Koran and Prophetic Traditions in the similitude of Martial Law. The signs manifested by God are free from human interference and are beyond their access. The images of HDE Gohar Shahi on the Moon, Sun and Mars have been manifested by God; HDE Gohar Shahi did not manifest them. They are God’s Miracles and God’s Miracles are eternal.

In this monumental speech, Sayyidi Younus AlGohar explains what it means for the Spiritual Guide to supervise a disciple. He speaks at length about the difference between the common method of supervision and the special type of supervision reserved for the most elite disciple.

Summary:

- There are different types of Spiritual Guides. Some Spiritual Guides are ‘Perfect’ in Sharia, some others are ‘Perfect’ in Tariqat and some others are ‘Perfect’ in Haqiqat. The Spiritual Guide who is perfect in Sharia sacrifices the Exoteric Sharia in order to teach his disciples Esoteric Sharia; he purifies their Lower Selves. For example, cursing Devout Believers makes one a Fasiq and it is wrong according to Exoteric Sharia - however, the Perfect Spiritual Guides would swear at the disciples a great deal.

- Exoteric Sharia is the incomplete Sharia and the Esoteric Sharia is the complete Sharia. The one who makes you sin is the Lower Self; your hands and feet, tongues and ears are being used as a puppet. Therefore, controlling the Lower Self is the true Sharia. The exoteric aspect of Sharia has to do with the body and the esoteric aspect of Sharia has to do with the Lower Self. The Exoteric Sharia is for the purification of the body and the Esoteric Sharia is for the purification of the Lower Self.

- The Spiritual Guide perfect in Sharia will purify your Lower Self. The Spiritual Guide perfect in Tariqat will awaken and enlighten your Spiritual Heart and take you towards the knowledge of the Subtlety of Ana [ie seeing God]. After obtaining the knowledge of the Subtlety of Ana when it is time for you to witness the divine splendour, then the Spiritual Guide perfect in Haqiqat will complete the journey with his spiritual sight. And a Spiritual Guide who can supervise his disciples all the time regardless of the distance comes under all these categories.

- There are two types of spiritual supervision. Number 1 - the common spiritual supervision. Number 2 - the special spiritual supervision. For the common spiritual supervision, the disciple's Lower Self must be at the stage of the Inspired Self. When you commit a sin, the Blameworthy Self will inwardly humiliate you by making you realise you have done something wrong; it doesn't do anything else. If you wish to come under the spiritual supervision of the Spiritual Guide then your Lower Self must be at the stage of the Inspired Self. When your Lower Self becomes the Inspired Self and you try to commit a sin, the Spiritual Guide will spiritually send you a message, 'Do not do this.' It stops you from sinning but it does not tell you what to do.

His Divine Eminence said, 'Successful is the one who obtained two things: a Spiritual Heart which is eternally engaged in God's invocation and a Spiritual Guide who supervises you even from a distance.'

- Every Spiritual Heart has a limit set for the amount of invocation it can engage in. When it reaches its limit, it falls silent. When it falls silent, it cannot receive the messages sent by the Spiritual Guide. The Spiritual Hearts of those who are to be included among the Divine Lovers have to invoke upon God at least 125 000 a day - and as it is not normal for there to be so much heat and movement in the human body, it causes them to feel perpetually feverish and dizzy. Therefore, HDE Gohar Shahi’s statement does not apply to a group of people - rather it was a reference to a specific disciple.

- The Spiritual Heart has three sub-spirits. When the Spiritual Guide wishes to make a disciple a Fana fil Sheikh, he replaces one of his sub-spirits of the heart with his own. There is also a disciple of HDE Gohar Shahi whose Spiritual Heart is empty of his own sub-spirits and is rather filled with the presence of the sub-spirits of HDE Gohar Shahi. It is such a heart that can be counted as eternally engaging in invocation - because the presence of the sub-spirits of HDE Gohar Shahi is dominant in his heart.

Who are the Manzoor-e-Nazar (Admitted to the Eyes) and how does one become admitted to the eyes of his Spiritual Guide? How has Imam Mehdi changed the spiritual system since His advent? Sayyidi Younus AlGohar explains.

Summary:

- The genuine status of a Spiritual Guide starts from Kamil Tariqat (Perfection in Spirituality). He will only accommodate the number of disciples prescribed by God in his fate. The Spiritual Guide has the power to save an image of his disciples with his eyes. When the Spiritual Guide decides to spiritually concentrate on you, he thinks about you and your appearance or reflection will come before him. The Spiritual Guide will look at that appearance and you will obtain the spiritual benevolence through the appearance.

- The appearance of someone who is a Manzoor-e-Nazar (Admitted to the Eyes) makes permanent abode in the eyes of the Spiritual Guide. When his appearance is permanently kept in the Spiritual Guide's eyes, he is constantly under the Guide's spiritual concentration. Then the Guide grants him the ability to visualise the Guide when he closes his eyes. If the Guide wants to make the disciple’s visualisation of him permanent, he places his reflection in the eyes of the disciple; then the disciple sees the Guide wherever he looks.

- Before you become a Manzoor-e-Nazar, you have affection for your Guide. If the Spiritual Guide wants to grant you his love, he will purify your Lower Self and your heart and then place a sub-spirit in your chest. All five subtleties in your chest will form a circle around that sub-spirit of your Spiritual Guide and circumambulate it. Per the spiritual laws, that sub-spirit of the Spiritual Guide remains in the chest of the disciple for three years. In those three years, the disciple’s subtleties become like the sub-spirit of the Guide. This is what is known as the love of the Spiritual Guide. After that, the Spiritual Guide calls back his sub-spirit and the subtleties of the disciple spend the rest of their lives sorely missing the Spiritual Guide.

- HDE Gohar Shahi did something different. If HDE Gohar Shahi gave anybody one of His sub-spirits, He gave it permanently. Such a person was known as an Eternal Fana fil Sheikh.

- HDE Gohar Shahi has introduced a new system. He casts a Merciful Sight at least once a day upon the heart of a common follower of Imam Mehdi. Imam Mehdi shall pass through the chests of the elite followers at least once a day. When He casts His Merciful Sight upon your heart, all the sins of the day will be burnt. You will weep in His remembrance in the beginning. But after He casts His spiritual concentration on you two or three times, your subtleties will fall unconscious. Then the only way to recognise if you are a true follower will be if you dedicate yourself to the propagation of the Office of Imam Mehdi and you submit yourself to the one you must submit before.

- Before the Seclusion, HDE Gohar Shahi did not cast His spiritual concentration upon anyone because people had the physical company of HDE Gohar Shahi available to them. You didn't need the spiritual concentration to burn your sins.

- Somebody asked HDE Gohar Shahi how one would be able to differentiate between the satanic marvels performed by the Dajjal (Antichrist) and the miracles of Imam Mehdi. HDE Gohar Shahi replied that differentiation is not possible. The only way people will recognise the truth is if they have divine energy within their hearts. That divine energy will pull them towards Imam Mehdi. Their hearts, not their minds, will take them to Imam Mehdi. It is more important to have an abundance of divine energy and Rapturous Love than to have an abundance of knowledge; knowledge will not save you here. For divine energy to remain in you, it is necessary that HDE Gohar Shahi looks at you at least once a day.

What, exactly, is a human being? Where and how do human beings exist in light of spirituality? Sufi Spiritualist Younus AlGohar simplifies some of the most pressing questions of the human condition in this must-see video.

Summary:

- A car is a complex item so it cannot be explained on the basis of one particular part in it. It is a sum of many different parts. In a similar way, a human being is a compound existence.

- You cannot just remove the human soul from the body, without its auxiliary spirits, and declare it to be a human being. That is wrong. Your soul, in nature, is the same as angels. You become a human being when other auxiliary souls are contained in your body along with the darkness of your Lower Self, the Ego. If the Lower Self is not placed in your body, you do not qualify to be known as a human being. Therefore, you - as a human being - do not exist anywhere outside of the body.

- There are many ethereal and non-ethereal factors involved in your existence. Your body of flesh and bones contains different ethereal souls and spirits as well as the carnal desires of the Lower Self.

- There are many different species of unicellular organisms like the amoeba. And then there are multicellular organisms. Similarly, we become human beings when we have a share of different types of existence in our body. A human being is not a uni-existential being.

- The human soul will not represent your human structure. A human being is like a team; there is no team that consists of just one player. You have representation from Alam-e-Malkoot (The Realm of Angels) because you have the Spiritual Heart. You have the representation of Alam-e-Jabrout (The Realm of Divine Majesty) because you have the human soul. You have the representation of Alam-e-Ahdiyat (The Realm of Divine Oneness) because you have the Latifa-e-Ana (the soul in the forehead). And you have the Lower Self which is the representation of Alam-e-Nasoot (The Terrestrial Realm/Phenomenal World). So if you find yourself, you will never be able to find yourself in one type of existence. You are scattered everywhere.

- The human soul is nothing but the Command 'Be'. Your soul has no ears or eyes; it doesn’t have a nose, the power of speech, the power of seeing or hearing. How will you ever reach your own reality? You can’t as you a mixture of different types of existence. If you explore yourself, wherever in you you will go, you will see: it belongs to God. Perhaps this is why God said, 'One who recognises himself recognises God.'

Is it permissible to call Moula Ali God - and can you call God Ali? Sayyidi Younus AlGohar explains.

Summary:

- There is a type of knowledge in which it is not incorrect to call a man of God, God. This is because the man obtains something from God due to which if someone calls him 'God', they are referring to God, not the man.

A Prophetic Tradition also states: One who completes Spiritual Poverty becomes God.

- When Pharaoh said, 'I am your Lord, the most high,' he was declared a disbeliever, polytheist and hell-bound. But when Mansoor Hallaj declared, 'I am God.' He was known as a Divine Lover. Both said the same thing. However, the words Pharaoh uttered came from the Devil and that is why they were wrong. Whereas the words Mansoor bin Hallaj spoke came from God, hence they were right.

- In spirituality, a time comes when God says, 'I become the hands with which he holds, I become the feet with which he walks and I will become the tongue through which he will speak.' This is the Station of Laqa and Baqa which comes after the Station of Fana (Annahilation) in which a spiritual union is established between man and God. Therefore, calling Maula Ali 'God' is permissible.

- You cannot call God 'Ali'. It is permissible to call Moula Ali God because Maula Ali possesses the light of God. Maula Ali is a human being as an individual but the beauty of God reflects in the mirror of this human being. But a human reflection is not mirrored in God's being.

Sufi Master Younus AlGohar explains the method of Dam Milana, an act used by the saints of God to request a special form of spiritual help from other spiritual dignitaries. He also grants those who have the Personal Name of God permission to use a unique form of Dam Milana.

Summary:

- People say that the supplications of saints can make it rain or that their prayers will solve various other problems. However, praying for rain will not make it rain. It is the Archangel Michael’s job to make it rain. If a saint of God is requested to pray for rain, what will he do? He will seek the spiritual help of Michael (Dam Milana). When he uses the act of Dam Milana, Michael will become present within him. And Michael's spiritual power will be loaned to the saint. Then the saint will say, 'Let it rain,' and it will rain.

- Sometimes, you need to use the act of Dam Milana - and sometimes, if you have enough spiritual power, you don't need to. When you have enough spiritual power, then your inner faculties become dependant upon your thoughts. Then you will just think about a place and, immediately, your subtleties will leave your body and travel there. This is the stage where you can use Dam Milana if you need to; in other words, this method is for the Kamileen (saints who have reached the culmination in spirituality).

- For the first time in life, I am giving you all permission to carry out Dam Milana. The permission to perform Dam Milana will work only for those who have the invocation of the heart and can see God's Personal Name inscribed upon their hearts when they visualise it. It can be used to solve any problem you may have. For example, if you have applied for a visa, first visualise God's Personal Name on your heart and then shift that visualisation from your heart onto the person in front of you who is in charge of your visa application. If it is successfully shifted onto the person, you will actually see the Personal Name of God hovering over them. This is how to use Dam Milana through the Personal Name of God. Test it and see - this permission is normally only granted to saints of God.

- In 1987, a time came when I had not eaten for 16-17 days. I was then told spiritually, 'Whenever you face any difficulty, simply visualise the Personal Name of God and the problem will be solved.' And I thought to myself that nothing could be more difficult than that situation, so I visualised the Personal Name of God upon my stomach. That was when I saw that many tiny Personal Names of God had begun entering my stomach. It became full and I had energy. When I visualised God's Personal Name upon the water, my thirst was quenched. Those who obtained this knowledge will certainly say that Imam Hussain didn't need water or food in the Battle of Karbala, for he had the Personal Name of God.

- There are two types of bad company: exoteric and esoteric. The bad exoteric company in where you keep the company of people who do bad things - People like gangsters, hooligans, drug addicts who trouble others and are involved in immorality. The bad esoteric company is where you spend time with people whose inner beings are filled with the presence of Satan and they are under God’s wrath.

- The bad exoteric company has many adverse effects. Some sins are exoteric sins and some are esoteric sins. There are esoteric insects that are born when esoteric sins are committed. They crawl all over your body and eventually manage to enter your bloodstream. Then you become habitual of those sins. By keeping bad company, without meaning to, one becomes habitual of sins that he hasn't even committed. It is as if someone has dirt on their clothes and you go sit right next to them - even though you didn’t do anything to soil your clothes, your clothes end up dirty because of that person. Similarly, if you spend a lot of time with people who drink alcohol, one day, you will end up drinking it too.

- The bad esoteric company is the company of people who may seem to be religious and pious, but they are under the curse of God. The Koran has instructed the Devout Believers not to keep the company of the hypocrites, lest the fire in their chests reach the chests of Devout Believers, too. Now, if you are sitting in the company of people that God is cross with, then they are under God's wrath - and along with them, you, too, will come under God's wrath. Therefore you should be careful about who you spend your time with.
