Denise is someone with a Big Idea. She lived for years with this idea locked away and unexpressed, until she couldn’t take it any more. It was time for her to speak, to take this Big Idea out into the world, and to face the one thing that had been stopping her all along: Herself.

So what is an “ñ”?
An “ñ” is a first-generation American-born Latino who has at least one parent from a Spanish-speaking country. Although each individual person’s details vary, every story reveals commonalities about the shared ñ experience in America that collectively defines this generation. Denise quickly discovered that she wasn’t alone in her experience of feeling caught between two worlds with a big responsibility. What to hold on to… and what to let go. How to create… and what to reinvent. The struggles, responsibilities, and privileges of both of her identities led her to step into a new mission: to heal a generation of people with a shared experience. With a sudden feeling that she wanted to become a nun, she erased 1200 of her drawings in a live installation and left her world behind to go to Tibet and take on the monastic life for 10 years. And now? Well… she’s a latex fetish queen.
