Episode 020: "They Were There"

Tawny and JDK discuss a not-as-well-known-as-perhaps-it-should-be episode in American history, known to some as the "North Platte Canteen," an effort taken during World War II by citizens of North Platte, Nebraska, to bring gifts of food, cheer, hugs, and support to US troops who stopped in their town on troop trains, all on their way to serve around the world fighting the war. The North Platte Canteen became legendary among the nearly 6 million service members who passed through the canteen during the war; one soldier, asked later why it was so meaningful to him, with tears in his eyes, simply said, "because they were there." It is a story of resilience from a number of different directions in a number of different ways, with a number of lessons for us to consider and draw on for our own lives and communities.

“ASTRO JAM” panel. Your “front row seat” to this online astro-drama makes for exciting fun discovering how the planets dialogue in our evolving reality. Charts identified afterwards for an engaging discussion how the chart reflects the place, person, or event.

“Two mystery charts are unknown to the participating astrologers who know the charts are relevant somehow to the time we’re in and receive an abstract clue for their mystery chart given by the other team.”

“The plot thickens because it could be a person, or a thing, place, or even an event. However, that might be a natal chart for a book like Frankenstein, or a nation besides a person’s birthdate.” said Sue Minahan, founder, and host of the weekly show. “Through astrologer’s improvisation and playful interaction, the planets come to consciousness. We hear planets talk through their cosmic energies just as they do in our minds and hearts, as we discover their message of the archetypal wisdom of astrology.”
