This episode I had on two of the Rockstars that work for Ancova (our energy business) to discuss our new Commercial Management Platform "Ancova View."
We discuss the complexities of selling oil, natural gas, and NGLs, and how there is a data problem when processing these sales. We talk about commercial contract side of the business and why these agreements are complicated and difficult to administer. Lastly, we run through the different tools we have built in Ancova View and how they are helping our clients.
If you are interested in the process of how energy is monetized, and the tools we are building to help streamline the process, I think you will find value in the conversation.

This episode's guest is Calvin Froedge, the founder of Marhelm, a maritime transport analytics platform.
Calvin came on the podcast last year on an episode where we had a two person panel and since then I'd been wanting to get him back on the show as a solo guest. I enjoy following Calvin on Twitter where he frequently posts about his investment themes around commodities, real estate and equities.
This episode we start the discussion with what trends Calvin is seeing in the world of maritime transport and what he is paying attention to in 2023. We then shift the conversation to real estate and how he has been investing in that space. Lastly, we dive into commodities and how Calvin likes investing in equities to play the current macro themes.

This episode's guest is Yaron Brook the author of the book Equal is Unfair, the Chairman of the Ayn Rand Institute, and the host of the Yaron Brook show.
I read Yaron's book back in 2014 and it sent me down the Ayn Rand rabbit hole reading her books and listening to her interviews.
This episode we talk about the wealth gap and why equality of outcomes only comes through regulations that tear some people down at the benefit of others.
We discuss the climate movement and the collectivist undertones driving many of the narratives. We touch on the war in Ukraine, central banks printing money, and how the U.S. political system envies the power that China wields over its people.
Yaron is a great listen. Hope you enjoy the show!

Jusper also puts out great content on Twitter and shows the work involved with making a living without modern fossil fueled powered machines.
We talk about the agriculture industry in Africa, and the challenges faced. Jusper gives his views on energy and how his university education didn't teach him about the benefits of fossil fuels. Lastly, we discuss the green movement and why so many young people are influenced by unrealistic expectations in the Western world when the developing world still needs the basic energy infrastructure many of us take for granted.
