Jon got his Dexa scan results and had a body fat breakdown—he got 7% higher than he wanted and almost drove off an overpass. Now he's threatening 75 Hard, and she's threatening to jab him with GLP-1 peptides if he fails (she's already buying the vial). They're dealing with new grandparent boundaries—they're not allowed to kiss the baby on the face, though Jon plans to sneak cheek kisses when babysitting. Rome was the grand finale. We met up with her kids (Leah, McKenna, and Harper) and experienced the Jubilee—something that only happens every 25 years. Jamie had walked past the Holy Doors at Saint Peter's Basilica 20 years ago when they were closed, and now they were open for the blessing. We both walked through them (though honestly, it didn't feel different), but it was a cool full-circle moment. Rome was packed, hot as hell, and we walked 30,000 steps to see the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and the Basilica. We also discovered why Italian pizza doesn't have pepperoni (it's an American thing), why you can't ask for ranch in Italy, and how every single pizza place makes fresh cheese daily—whatever isn't used that day gets tossed. Jamie ate nothing but pasta and bread the entire trip and somehow came back skinnier, which shouldn't be possible but apparently is. Then Jon went back to work while Jamie extended the trip to Switzerland with McKenna for "naked spa time." This was the first trip in 3.5 years they came home together (besides Hawaii). They're already talking about Positano as a potential wedding venue (even though they still haven't planned their own wedding). Next destination options: Vietnam, Cuba, Bosnia, or Georgia. This trip proved Italy is elite.

Italy was supposed to be a smooth trip. It wasn't. Our flight to Paris got cancelled due to travel strikes, so we rebooked through Boston to arrive on July 4th (fireworks over Europe—wild). When we landed in Milan, trains were cancelled due more strikes—you just show up and hope your train goes. Plus: bags getting stolen left and right on Italian trains, so we had to guard our luggage like it was gold. We split up in Milan—Jon took the train to Lake Como while Jamie went to Tuscany for her daughter's wedding. Lake Como was incredible (heated bathroom floors had her refusing to leave), but we accidentally booked the wrong day thanks to European calendar systems starting on Monday instead of Sunday—a pro tip for anyone traveling to Europe. Then we regrouped in Lucca, a medieval town where we discovered Rammstein (the German metal band) was performing RIGHT OUTSIDE our hotel. We attended the daughter's wedding at a villa in the mountains, then took an insane train ride to Positano with different AC situations (she sat in the no-AC car by herself, he sat in arctic temperatures). We met random people walking through Positano, hired an Airbnb with ocean views, and experienced one of Italy's most beautiful coastal towns. Cappadocia might be one of the coolest places on Earth. We stayed at the Museum Hotel (built into actual caves), woke up at 3:30 AM to see 150+ hot air balloons launch at sunrise (weather cancelled it), hired photographer Mr. Serrkan (the coolest guy ever—leather jacket, smoking, driving us in an Aston Martin), and ended up shooting with horses, camels, peacocks, and turtles. The balloons finally launched at our second hotel (Sultan Cave) during Turkish breakfast on the rooftop, and it was so surreal people thought it was AI. Then we pivoted to the beach town of Çesme at Beyond Sunset (a hidden gem on the Aegean Sea), where Jon got his revenge by finding the dirtiest corners for photos every time Jamie posed beautifully. Jamie found the perfect venue for her daughter McKenna's wedding (before booking theirs), Jon asked when THEY'RE getting married, and we discovered Turkey is the hair transplant capital—literally everyone at the airport had fresh bandages and new hairlines. Plus: Jamie's obsession with asking every bald guy "where'd you get that done?", the Michelin-star restaurant overlooking the water, why the paper poncho from Part 1 doesn't compare to Cappadocia's luxury, and Jamie slept the ENTIRE flight home (ambien-free) while Jon stayed awake and hot from her body heat. This trip completely changed our perspective on travel. Turkey is elite.

We flew Turkish Airlines for 12 hours to Istanbul and it was CHAOS. A child behind us yelling "TWO ONE" for 15 straight minutes on repeat, Jamie took Ambien to sleep but it didn't work and she woke up with cheesecake still on her fork, and Jon didn't sleep the entire flight. We only had 12 hours in Istanbul before heading to Cappadocia, but we made it count: Turkish baths (hammams) that literally feel like floating through clouds, the Blue Mosque where security caught us trying a TikTok trend and made us delete it (even from the trash), and Jon decided to join in on midday prayer pointing toward Mecca. Jamie had to wear a paper poncho at the mosque while everyone else looked elegant, we broke down Muslim stereotypes we grew up with, explored massive spice bazaars, and fell in love with Turkish culture. Spoiler: it's nothing like what we were taught in school. Plus: the $7,000-per-night decision Jon made on the flight, why Jamie can't say "hamam," and why Turkish baths are now our favorite travel experience. We went to the World Cup in Dallas and it was INSANE. Jamie thinks the World Cup is rigged (based on a TikTok conspiracy about hidden colors in the logos predicting the winner), George has hit 5 correct score bets in two weeks and just turned $50 into $600, and we can't stop talking about Erling Haaland. Yes, Jamie is obsessed with him—but here's the kicker: he makes $80 MILLION a year (just in endorsements), has at least 5 Birkins, trains with the NFL, and only eats raw products from local farms he trusts. We attended the Norway vs. Ivory Coast game at AT&T Stadium in Dallas with 11 rows back, front-row seats (the guy next to us paid $700 for a single seat). Plus: Jon got recognized from Love Island by a drunk guy and everyone wanted photos with him, there was controversy over USA's red card against Belgium, we debate whether Mexico's flopping is tactical, and we're already planning our next World Cup trip. Tickets for the England vs. Mexico game are insane ($4,000 cheapest, $17,000 for good seats), but we might go anyway. The World Cup is elite—if you haven't been to a game, you need to go.
