On August 13, we as Anglican commemorate the life and work of Jeremy Taylor, whose ministry was carried out in the midst of some of the most tragic days in the Church of England. In the midst of such challenges he remained a true son of the Church, holding forth the unchanging faith of the undivided Church, calling all men everywhere to repent and believe. We are afforded a glimpse of this churchman's heart in an excerpt of his work, "On the Reverence Due to the Altar."
