On July 14, the Church in the West calls us to celebrate the life and work of St. Bonaventure, who labored tireless to know and make known Jesus Christ and him crucified. In this labor, he was used to bring about a brief reunion of the Church, East and West, at the Council of Lyons in 1274. It was during the days of this council that he fell asleep in the Lord on July 15.
