  • Episode 20: The 19th Sunday after Trinity
Always with Christ is a ministry of Holy Cross Anglican Church in Alpine, Texas, and is presented by Fr. Damien Grout. In this week's episode, we find the Church leading us to the healing of the paralytic, where we see both the faith of the one sick and also the faith of his friends who go to great length to bring him to Christ and healing. But how often do we think about healing? Specifically, the healing of the soul, through which comes the healing of the body in the resurrection? Today, we learn to hear the voice of Christ, calling us to take up our bed and walk. Matthew 9:1-8, Ephesians 4:17-32

  • Episode 18: The Seventeenth Sunday After Trinity
Always with Christ is a ministry of Holy Cross Anglican Church and is presented by Fr. Damien Grout. Throughout Trinity Season, we have been seeking the graces by which we become like our Lord, and today, we come to the final state, the state of Union. We learn "to walk worthy of our vocation" in the Epistle, for in this we learn to participate in God in Trinity, for in him we find lowliness and meekness, which are the first step to being filled with God. We also see the healing that comes in Christ in the healing of the man with the dropsy. Eph. 4:1-6, Luke 14:1.

  • Episode 17: The Sixteenth Sunday After Trinity
Always with Christ is a ministry of Holy Cross Anglican Church in Alpine, Texas, and is presented by Fr. Damien Grout. In this week's episode, we continue our Trinity Season Journey, travelling through the last of the Sundays in the pursuit of the grace of illumination. Today, we seek sight of the Kingdom of God in pursuit of the putting down of the lusts of the flesh, and elevating our hunger for the things that will live into eternity. We learn with St. Paul to rejoice in all things, even suffering, for in Christ, suffering finds meaning. In our gospel we watch the collision of a funeral procession with the procession of the Lord of life, and we see the victory of the Kingdom of heaven over the kingdom of darkness and death. Ephesians 3:13ff, Luke 7:11

No truer words have ever been spoken than the words that open our gospel lesson: "No man can serve two masters." Yet how often to we try? As we continue on in our Trinity Season Journey, we seek the grace of illumination to show us the truth about ourselves and to show us the glory of the Kingdom, so that we might learn to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, so that we might know true blessedness. Galatians 6:11, Matthew 6:24-33
