2025 is a new year and we have a new host! Joining Britt on the pod is Renzo - a thinker, climber, hyper-active community member, and...her boyfriend. Together, they're going to navigate the world of work and the work of the world. This ep is a little intro to our new host and some of the work we do to get this podcast into the ether.

Shortly before I started this podcast, former US President Barack Obama debuted his Netflix Limited Series, Working: What We Do All Day. I felt a bit behind on the times when I realized, but I've finally watched the third episode "Dream Jobs" and wanted to share some of the things it made me think about. In this episode, I talk about generational differences, the desire to find meaning, and how making $130k might not even be that satisfying.

Today I'm chatting with Nick Chaloux about the work of setting up sustainable habits in our apartment. Setting up the habits takes time, but leads to minimal maintenance. We talk composting, second hand finds, and deciding to make and build things ourselves.

As an example of a new segment of the podcast, I'm unmuting that the term "Assistant" is a major issue in our work culture. As proven by Google, the term keeps hierarchies in place and ensures people don't get the credit, or pay, they deserve. Let me know what you think!

The speech was delivered soon after the pandemic began and offers a beautiful, though very academic, take on how to move forward as makers, thinkers, and citizens in this world. I read the speech as a transcription by the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
