The Ukraine-Russia "invasion" hasn't been called a "clash" or a "tiff," and for good reason. So why is this straightforwardness so hard to come by when watching reports about the Middle East? This episode dives into the hypocrisy shown by Western countries. They express outrage at the loss of European lives and livelihoods but have been integral to the dispossession of black and brown people. It's not about principles of democracy or humanity - it's about racism and white supremacy. We told you that everything is political and now you have proved it.
I'm being pretty candid about my life experience with weight management (or mismanagement?)
Basically, my shock at how unhealthy my body is and how unhealthy my lifestyle is has spurred me on to make some serious changes. Who knew it wasn't normal to eat fries for starters AND for dessert?!
What do Simon Leviev and Kanye West have in common? Hint: Its more than just the fact that they like to change their names. Im tired of seeing men take advantage of women, treat them like crap and never having to answer for their actions. And no, its not just famous men - there are many bad stories of men who insult, belittle, steal from and badmouth women... (yes, Muslim men do it too)
What do Kyalami racetrack and Planet Fitness have in common? Well, me...
Here's a motivational speech about trying new things AND my experience of a glimpse into a post-COVID world
Lately I've been realising how quickly I become addicted to things! I get pretty intense with series - I have to binge it until its finished. I get pretty intense with albums, googling stuff and looking for great discounts. This episode is basically a cry for help - how can I take this obsessive personality trait and turn it into something that's actually useful?!
This week I found a grey hair in my head which literally means that my folicle is dead (I think?). Anyway the freak-out over getting older continues for the whole episode and randomly includes my dream about Lady Gaga and my rant about Wordle.
Its the start of the year and there's a lot of new things happening which means --- my impostor syndrome is back in full force! What is that? How do we deal with it? What does that have to do with that transphobic article from the Mail & Guardian? You gotta listen to find out...
Inspired by the Netflix movie Don't Look Up, I asked myself what would I do if the world was going to end in 6 months time?! Lots of adrenaline-rushing activities like replying to WhatsApp messages and reading books...but essentially, how can I be a better human being?
Festive season means one thing is necessary: A whole entire rant about housework. I unintentionally come across as preachy, but the general discourse around house maintenance is very annoying. From using derogatory terms to describe workers, to men pretending not to know that there's work to be done - the question of whose work is housework needs urgent answering!
For the last episode for 2021, I asked myself why are New Year's Resolutions renown for failing? I believe strongly in their power, so I did some digging and found some tips on how to actually make ones that work. We also chat about how transformative goal-setting (and goal-achieving) can be.
