The Pipestone A’s amateur baseball team earned a split on the road Sunday, defeating Fox Lake, 7-1, while falling to Fairmont, 6-0. Mitchel Carson tossed a complete-game four-hitter, allowing one earned run while striking out 10, walking five and issuing one hit batsman in the conquest over Fox Lake at Truman. Second baseman Merrick Heidebrink performed well as the A’s lead-off hitter, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. Jackson Melcher, fresh from attending North Dakota State University, also scored twice. Mark Abrahamson doubled and contributed two RBI, and Carson helped his own cause with a 2-for-4 performance...
