There’s also plenty of celebrating to do, with Bec crowing from the rooftops as her beloved Sydney Roosters claim the premiership double in a special moment for her club.

But the biggest shock of all? The amateurs look back at their full set of 2026 preseason predictions and are surprised by just how much they got right. Could a rebrand to The Oracles or The Gurus be on the cards?

Professional sport is full of highs and lows, and the show starts with a low for Bec as she experiences non-selection for the first time in her eight-season career.

September footy is officially in full swing, and Jack and Bec are up to their eyebrows in finals fever. The AFL’s inaugural wildcard round delivered monster crowds and plenty to talk about, but now the cream has risen to the top with the final four ready to battle it out for a spot at the MCG on the last Saturday in September.

Over in the NRL, we’ve said goodbye to the Cowboys and Rabbitohs, while the Dolphins and Warriors have booked themselves a week off as the finals race starts to heat up. There’s also a change up with 'Third Person In' being unleashed a little earlier than its usual timeslot, and for good reason. And with the NRLW finals kicking off, the big question is whether anyone can stop the Red, White and Bluesters?

Jack and Bec dissect the big AFL clashes between Fremantle and Sydney and Brisbane and Hawthorn, before turning their attention to the NRL’s second week of finals and mapping out who they think can make it all the way to the big dance. Two big wins kick things off on Amateur Hour this month. Bec gets hers on the field, while Jack’s comes on the field… sort of.

The AFLW season is officially underway, plus there are five double headers as the AFL controversially changes fixturing after already releasing the AFLW draw.

Meanwhile, the AFL men’s home and away season is down to its final round and the finals picture is taking shape. Jack and Bec run their eye over the inaugural wildcard round and drop breaking news about Josh Fraser's new job following the Blues’ remarkable resurgence.

Over in the NRL, the top eight is starting to look locked in, but there’s still plenty to play for, especially in the Amateur Hour Cup, where the Roosters have pinched top spot from the Panthers. Are the reigning champs wobbling at exactly the wrong time?

And finally, Peter V’landys is once again hunting for more content, with some big ideas being floated for Grand Final week. Because apparently one Grand Final isn’t enough content for rugby league.
