It is quite easy to recognize the sins of others and point a finger of judgment at them. But what if every time we pointed a finger of judgment at someone else, we actually found ourselves looking in a mirror with the finger pointed right back at us. Paul, in explaining the righteous judgment of God upon sin, reminds the self-righteous religious person who is quick to judge others that the pointed finger of God's judgment falls on them as well. We continue our study of Romans and look at the impartiality of God's righteous judgment for sin and our universal need for His grace in Christ.

One of the questions that inevitably comes up when we talk about the gospel as the power of God for salvation is "What about those who have never heard? How can they be held accountable for sin?" The righteousness of God revealed in the gospel is good news because it addresses the wrath of God that is revealed on all people who are without excuse. Now we continue in our study in Romans and find out the reason for and result of mankind's suppression of the truth about God.

As Christians, "the gospel" is a term we use regularly to define and describe what makes us who we are and what motivates how we live. We often speak of being gospel-centered, but do we really know what that means? Paul, in the opening of his letter to the Romans, gives a gospel introduction that sets the stage for what is to come in the rest of the letter. Listen as we kick off our new series in the book of Romans: The Gospel of God.

Our vision as a church is in many ways exemplified in our name: we are ambassadors. An ambassador is appointed by a higher authority to be a representative, a voice to speak and act on behalf of that authority. Through the transforming power of the gospel, God calls us as ambassadors for Christ, and he equips us with the motivation, mindset and mission with which to carry out that calling.

For all the optimism and renewed hope that a new year brings, we also know that at some point we will come face to face with the tragic and fearful realities of trouble in our world. Whether it's natural disasters, national conflicts, or personal pain and fears, none of us is immune from troubled times ahead, so the question is how do we face them with confident hope and assurance. Psalm 46 holds the answer. Join us as we look to God and his word to find a present help and hope in troubled times.

Listen as we kick off the New Year discussing three means by which we grow in God's grace: draw near to the throne of grace; commit ourselves to God and his word of grace; serve one another as stewards of God's grace.

The virgin birth, or more appropriately the virgin conception, of Jesus is a reality that is of critical significance to Jesus' role in God's plan of redemption and to our participation in that redemption through the new birth. And yet, it is a truth that is easily overlooked or even dismissed by some as not necessarily important to true faith. But the birth narratives of the gospels tell us differently. Here we look at the difference it makes that Jesus was born of a virgin.

Advent reminds us of the eager expectation with which God's people awaited the arrival of the Messiah, who would redeem his people from their sin. Today, we who have received that redemption through Jesus, eagerly await his return when we shall be changed to fully bear his image in body and soul. What will that be like? We conclude our Advent series as we consider the glorious perfection that awaits those who have been made new in Christ by faith.

During advent we celebrate the truth that Jesus Christ appeared in the flesh just as it had been promised, and as a result "we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). And not only have we seen the radiance of God’s glory in Him, but we have also seen the true image of mankind – that image into which God's people are being transformed. Here we see how this glorious transformation is manifested in our lives through the ministry of the Holy Spirit and by our progressive growth in everyday practical grace and holiness.

invisible God who came not just to reveal the very nature of God, but to bring reconciliation between God and sinners, and to restore mankind and all creation to a relationship of true peace with the Creator. That peace does not come simply through the birth of God's Son, but through the shedding of his blood on the cross. In a world and in our lives that still battles the brokenness that sin brings, here we look at the amazing reconciliation that Jesus has achieved for us in the gospel.
