Christians believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. But, what does that mean and how do we know and why is that important? If God has truly spoken through his word recorded in scripture, then we would do well to pay attention to what it says. Here we continue our study of 2 Peter and look at the inspiration and importance of God's Word in the Bible.

While salvation and spiritual growth are all a work of God's sovereign grace and power through the gospel, we are called as believers to "work out that salvation with fear and trembling" (Phil. 2:12) Understanding this great paradox of the gospel is vital to our growing in the grace and knowledge of God. Sermon Series: Great and Precious Promises -- 2nd PeterIn a world and church culture that is often enamored by new and innovative ideas and change, it is easy to become distracted from or even forget the rock solid foundation of our faith: the truth of the gospel. Today we begin a series of messages from 2nd Peter to help remind us to stand on and trust in the great and precious promises of God in the gospel. With the daily flood of bad and discouraging news that fills our screens, news feeds and in-boxes, its so easy to forget the good news of God's divine blessings that belong to those who believe in Christ. Peter begins his 2nd letter to believers living in difficult times, by reminding them of the blessings they have been given through the knowledge of God in Jesus Christ. Listen as we too are reminded of the divine blessings that are ours through the gospel.

As we open God's Word to hear the vision for ACTs Groups, Ambassador's small group ministry we'll see a beautiful picture of God's people in the book of Acts gathering regularly to grow together in the faith and to have fellowship with and serve one another. Our desire is to see the people of Ambassador continue to take up this time-tested practice and experience opportunities to connect with other people, grow in the faith together, and care for one another in the same context of purposeful gospel community. Join us and be challenged and encouraged to continue to participate (or even become a part!) of this exciting movement in our church!

It's hard to believe it has been fifteen years since Ambassador began meeting as a church in a local elementary school. There is much to be thankful to God during that time, particularly the many ways the gospel has impacted lives and grown us in grace together as his people. Paul rejoiced with the young church at Philippi over their partnership in the gospel, and now we likewise give thanks for God's faithfulness and pray for God's continued fruitfulness in our lives together here at APC.

When we think of self-control, one is apt to remember the popular anti-drug commercial that exhorted us to "Just say 'NO!'" If only it were that easy. Most of us know how quickly a "no" can become a "yes" in the face of strong desires. True self-control is more than just denying certain drives or impulses. It involves a radical inward change that both motivates and empowers us to bring those drives and impulses under the control of someone outside of our "self." That's why self-control is included as a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Faithful is a word by which most of us would love to be described, but which we find increasingly lacking both in our culture and our relationships. Throughout the Bible, God is repeatedly described as faithful, and indeed it is because of Jesus' faithfulness that we are called to be faithful. Listen to hear what it means to cultivate this important spiritual fruit of faithfulness.

In a world where kindness and goodness seem to be on the decline, Christians are left with ample opportunity to put these spiritual fruits into action and shine the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ into a lost and dying world. We continue our series on Cultivating Spiritual Fruit and consider how the kindness and goodness shown to us through Jesus Christ both inspires and trains us to devote ourselves to good works that glorify our Father in heaven.

The fruit of our fast-paced culture where we have come to expect instant access and immediate results in almost every area of life is an increasing impatience with and aggression towards that which gets in the way. Which makes it all the more noticeable when believers exhibit patience and gentleness in our relationships with others. Join us as we look at how to cultivate the spiritual fruit of patience and gentleness such that we grow in the unity of the Spirit together.

There is a close connection between the spiritual fruit of joy and peace. They both seem so elusive in a world that is filled with pain and conflict, and yet both are trademark characteristics of Jesus followers. Listen as we explore the close connection, the common source, and the cultivation of true joy and peace in our lives.
