This week in our sermon series on Habits of a Healthy Soul, we turn from the habit of listening to God in his word, to the habit of speaking with God in prayer. While most Christians acknowledge prayer as fundamental to a vibrant, growing relationship with God, studies show that many professing believers rarely pray. Jesus opens the way for us to have an intimate, loving, dependent relationship with the God of the universe that is not just one-sided. God does not just want us to listen to him in his word, but he calls and invites us to speak with him in prayer. Jesus modeled this his own life as he often got away to pray, and it's why his disciples asked him to teach them to pray. Join us Sunday as we learn how to cultivate a habit of speaking with God in prayer who loves not just to listen but to answer when his children pray.
