It's August! The nodes have moved into Aquarius and Leo, and we have two eclipses this month. We also have major aspect patterns including Barbault's Basket, but also a mystic rectangle created with Venus' transit through Libra, which also forms a kite aspect and ultimately an envelope with Mercury in Leo. The Jupiter-Saturn trine is currently in play and exact on August 31st, and Venus begins the shadow period of her upcoming retrograde.

The Astrology of July 2026 is the weirdest and most intense of the year. Among the many outer planet aspects, we have the Uranus-Mars conjunction on the 4th, sextiles from both Uranus and Pluto to Neptune, and the Uranus-Pluto trine exact on the 18th. I also discuss Chiron's ingress into Taurus, Jupiter's ingress into Leo, and the Mercury retrograde in Cancer. The month ends with a full moon conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, opposing the Jupiter-sun conjunction in Leo. If you only listen to one astrology forecast this year, make it this one!

Gordon White (1981–2026) was a chaos magician, shamanic practitioner and permaculture farmer based in Tasmania. His website and podcast, Rune Soup, remain as portals into the world of modern magic offering lessons, lectures, discussion and community with hundreds of hours of material to learn from.

I am compelled to say this partly because of Gordon's permission by example to feel out loud for the people we meet through books or online interactions. His last podcast episode, honoring chaos magician Peter J. Carroll, addresses the impact Carroll's work had on his life, though he caveats that he did not know him as a friend. They met a few times and corresponded a little bit. "How rare is it," he asks the viewer, "to overlap your incarnation with one of your philosophical heroes?"

The Aquarius lunar cycle is wild. February is certainly one of the biggest months of 2026. We have our eclipse season, including a total lunar eclipse, the major event of Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0 degrees of Aries, and a Mercury retrograde in Pisces. This Pisces season, we have a stellium in Pisces that migrates to Aries, making aspects to Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto along the way.

Your Capricorn Lunar Cycle forecast is here. This cycle is about Saturnian endings and new goals, as well as big changes for the collective. Aquarius season starts, with our stellium moving from Capricorn to Aquarius, and every planet meeting Pluto to review: what's being reborn? What's transforming? What's collectively coming up from the underworld to be seen and understood?

Neptune and Saturn both make their ingress into Aries during this cycle, which signals a major new cycle beginning, and endings of the old. More on these planetary shifts and the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the 2026 annual forecast as well.

We have a big, fuzzy Leo full moon in opposition to a whole Aquarius stellium. Venus and Mercury enters Pisces. And after this lunar cycle, we enter eclipse season. The next month or so is our time to get organized before even bigger changes come.
