Congressman Max Miller has become a major problem for the GOP. He has until August 5th to drop out of the race or we're stuck with him and he'll likely lose his seat to the Democrat. Meanwhile, Todd Blanche appears to be on the verge of being confirmed. We'll see.

For years I've said RINOs are only marginally better than Democrats and there are times when it's better to take a step back by letting a RINO lose in the general so you can take several steps forward with a conservative the following election. Today, going from a RINO to a Democrat is taking several steps back, which means we're doing to supporting Republicans as the lesser of two evils.

Former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci appeared in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, where he was grilled about his work during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The former NIAID director refused to answer lawmaker questions throughout the hearing, invoking his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination, despite having a presidential pardon that covered his work during the pandemic.

Perhaps the worst thing that can really happen to Anthony Fauci is that he's ridiculed for the rest of his life over his own ignorance and narcissism. It would be better if he were charged, arrested, tried, convicted, and jailed, but shame may be the best thing we have.

Texas Republicans have a problem, and it is not the one they think they have. The problem is not Ken Paxton, and it is not the political environment. The problem is that too many conservatives still believe a Democrat winning statewide in Texas is impossible, while a New York Times/Siena poll released this week shows James Talarico tied with Paxton at 47 percent among likely voters.

The last time a Democrat won a statewide race in Texas, Bill Clinton was in his first term. That streak dies in November if patriots treat this race like every other Texas race and assume the math takes care of itself.

It won't. Talarico has two weapons no Texas Democrat before him has carried into a general election at the same time, and every conservative in the state needs to understand both.
