I was looking for a good read on bird watching

This book is just what I wanted. I was looking for a good read on bird watching. I always had an interest but never knew what it was about. I learned about tips on how to birdwatch, the different types of gear I need, and how to identify the birds. The book also had an additional chapter on the most common birds in North America. Some of the things it described I never even knew about these birds, even after seeing some of them my whole life!

It's an easy read. I was able to read this book on the bus on my way to work and back home from work. It was the perfect intro to bird watching that I wanted and then some!

Good Introductory Guide: Entry Level

I have been a nature-lover all my life. This kind of books were not available in my childhood, and we had to learn the basics of everything by ourselves. Fortunately, such books are going to make things more easy and efficient for our chidren, teens, etc.

This entry-level book gives a good guie to how to do, what tools to use, and what to do. Every bird-watcher in making would be benefited by this book. It is not an ultimate guide and that is a misnomer in its title. But the first half of the title is right: it is a good guide for beginners -- not only for Americans but also for people anywhere.
