War of the Worlds was a 1938 radio drama that purportedly incited mass hysteria over an other-worldly invasion filled with destruction and violence throughout the Eastern United states....but did it really or was it just hyped in the printed press? Leisa and I interrogate tantacled invaders spawned from the legend that cemented the fame (or infamy) of a young director/actor named Orson Welles and opened the door for him to do Citizen Kane.
