Many Coloradans probably look at the psychedelic drugs we've legalized and think to themselves, "WTF is Ibogaine?" In short: it's a psychedelic derived from an African shrub that lasts for up to 24 hours, and sends you to the strangest, darkest realms of your inner consciousness. AND, importantly, it has a strange and mysterious knack for helping people overcome addictions of all kinds. In episode three of American Psychonaut, Rooster sits down with journalist and ibogaine advocate Kevin Franciotti to talk about the psychedelic African shrub Tabernanthe iboga, its strange properties, and how it helped him overcome a serious heroin addiction. He'll be directing the first Psychedelics & Recovery Summit in October.
