So who is Ed Brunson?
Born in Columbus, GA in February '77. His family moved to Florida in 1980, His mother, Glenda, taught him to read by having him read recipes in Southern Living cookbooks. His father, Frank, taught him about Music, Politics, Religion and Everyday Life. After watching TV Chefs Justin Wilson and Paul Prudhomme , Brunson developed a passion for food, flavor and entertainment. In his early years, he developed his skills as an Actor and Singer. After graduating in 1995 from The Pinellas County Center For The Arts at Gibbs High School, Brunson enrolled at St. Petersburg Junior College then transferred to Appalachian State University. Ed worked his way through collage as a DJ, graduating in 2006.
After marrying his wife Chrissy in 2007, and receiving a smoker as a wedding gift, from his new in laws, Ed started developing his passion for BBQ. which led to the creation of Brun Rub! After two moves, three children, several jobs and being caught in the ebb and flow of underachievement, Fast forward to 2020. The COVID Pandemic hits and Brunson gets released from two jobs in the same week. Dejected, Ed did what Ed does. He started cooking.
This is where the flames of the BBQ Revolution started. Ed's passion met opportunity and now it seems he can't be stopped.
