The American education system is facing a teacher’s shortage.  Attracting newcomers to the profession is proving to be increasingly difficult.  There are one-third less people than a decade ago enrolling in teacher training programs, which is part of the certification process to become an educator, according to data from the Center for American Progress.  Kristy Houle is an educational consultant who is highly passionate when it comes to advocating for learners, across all educational settings. She has worked extensively in the areas of relationship building, professional development, and school safety.  Kristy also serves as the Educational Opportunities Director for the Educate.Today organization.  She joined me this week to discuss the current state of the American education system.
