We reserved the best for the last! Presenting to you the season finale episode titled Thyagabharati Showcase. Thyagabharati was a movement started by Prof V V Sadagopan, the great music professor and musician of the 1940-1970 time period. Prof Sadagopan believed that music was the most conducive medium to impart education to children. So combining his expertise in Music and his philosophy of "Joy Way of Learning", he founded the Thyaga Bharati movement and seeded it with a bunch of tamil songs for children set to very simple tunes.
While these songs are excellent on their own, In this episode, we pick up a few of them and weave them into an extempore story. Tune in to listen to this song-story sequence.
You can listen to more of the children songs authored by Prof V V Sadagopan through this youtube link - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHtDg2FLTi1WxIOKbF75-cg/featured - Rendered by his sons and daughters.
This is a story that illustrates the age old moral value that "Known is a drop and Unknown is an Ocean" or as they say in Tamizh - "கற்றது கை மண் அளவு, கல்லாதது உலகளவு"
We are very grateful to the editorial team of the Sanskrit Monthly Magazine "Sambhashana Sandesha" for allowing us to use this story that was featured in the children section of one of the issues of their magazine. "Sambhashana Sandesha" is a monthly magazine published by Samskrita Bharati - an almost 40 year old organisation that focusses on the propagation of Sanskrit as a commoner's language. Through their network of offices and volunteers, they endeavour to reach Sanskrit and its embedded knowledge systems to whomsover interested to learn it.
They offer some very interesting courses to learn Sanskrit through Face 2 face workshops, and also correspondence courses. You can find more details about all of their work at this website - https://samskritabharati.in/about_bharti
This episode is another story about the vehicles in the Mashini Village - and this time Winter has struck and a few of the vehicles are stuck for some reason. Check out the episode to find out why...
Introducing the naughty, yet adorable twins Anu and Dinesh in this latest episode. Tune in to find out their (mis)adventures on a lazy Sunday morning in their household!
In this episode we talk about the phonetic setup of the Tamil language and present an introduction to the great lady saint Avvaiyar who composed some very interesting value based poems for children. Her work the Aathichoodi - seemingly simple one line moral value lessons also double up as a brain gym and are particularly useful for children. And that's what we talk about in this episode. Hope you enjoy the show!
