My name is Ammar Figuera, and I am a musician, doctor, and singer, not professionally, but with effort and dedication I have overcome many obstacles and made great progress in music, which has been my passion since I can remember. The Venezuelan cuatro is my favorite instrument, but I also play several musical instruments.
I am going to perform a piece of music that is well known in many countries and in our Latin America, music performed by great artists such as Luis Miguel, Celia Cruz, Gualberto Ibarreto and the Venezuelan composer, musician, arranger and director the Magnificent Don. Aldemaro Romero.
That piece of music is called "La Bikina" (Onda Nueva version).
La Bikina is a Mexican song composed by the illustrious Rubén Fuentes in 1864, the origin of it is a bit funny, since it is said that his son, being on the beach with him, upon seeing the women in bikinis, told him her dad: these women should be called "bikinas" because they wear bikinis! So it seems that the origin of this song comes from there, it is one of the hypotheses raised on the website where the origin of this beautiful song is reflected.
