A bit vague, perhaps? Yes. However, also like a couple of pieces of a larger, much more complex puzzle in which ancient spiritual explorers the world over started to ask similar questions about the cosmos, the Divine, and why we humans even think about things like this. We might not find it surprising that humans that had no other connection to one another would have similar questions, but it remains a curious and informative thing that in historic terms, that happened to a bunch of us at the same time. This week in the Talky Bit we’ll explore what we have in common with those explorers, and how that connects to what we do here at The Table.
A couple of details:
We’ll meet online (for the foreseeable future – a phrase which seems to carry with it shorter and shorter time lines) here at 10:45 a.m. for music and Community Time. That will be followed by a pre-recorded version of the Talky Bit, because my family and I are making a quick trip to Saskatoon to visit my mom. Tim Penner will provide more details about what time that will happen, but it’ll be on Facebook as usual.
And Lunch After and The Wednesday Evening Zoom Hangout are both on this week at their usual times – 12:30 Sunday for ALA (add that to your abrevs wallet) and TWEZH (??) at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. URL’s for those are at the bottom of this email.
Finally, a quick update about our finances. Once we can do it in person, the pie will be flying everywhere! Or at least into the faces of every person on the Leadership Team. Yep, the community responded with generosity and enthusiasm to the idea of watching our kids smash pies into their elders, and that means we are heading into the new year in a relatively good position. A huge THANK YOU to all of you that support The Table in this particular way, both during special initiatives like this one, and in an ongoing way month by month. Without you, we wouldn’t get to do this together.
All righty…that’s it’s for now. I’ll (sort of) see you on Sunday. Or you’ll see me on Sunday, but I’ll be thinking about you while you do. Or something like that.
