Hello, welcome to Amped Up Local
"Amped Up Local" is your backstage pass to the local music scene, hosted by two passionate teenage music lovers, Charlotte and Izzy. Every episode spotlights new local bands, fresh tracks, live shows, and the creative voices shaping the sound of your town. With guest artists, event coverage, and real talk, we're amplifying the local scene, one episode at a time.
In this episode we chat about the TripleJ Hottest 100, including our picks and why we picked them, then we catch up with Nur Azman, co-owner of Chop Street Music Productions and Regional Program Officer with WAM (Western Australia Music).
Nur began her journey in the music industry after completing a Music Business course at TAFE, followed by an internship with WAM’s regional team in 2021. An avid live music fan, she started by organising launch shows for local bands at venues across Perth and Fremantle. Since then, she has co-founded Chop Street Music, a Mandurah-based music business dedicated to supporting and growing the live music scene in the Peel region. Over the past four years, Nur has worked with WAM, contributing to key events such as WAMCon, The WAMAwards, The Regional Roundtable, Song of the Year and WAMFest.
Amped Up Local releases episodes every second Thursday across all your favourite streaming platforms. Video episodes on YouTube and Spotify only.
