Matt Moorefield is an ice technician for the Carolina Hurricanes. Moorefield recounts working at an ice rink as a teenager before diving into the intricacies of making and maintaining an NHL-caliber ice sheet. (It sometimes involves eliminating stains, like red wine spilled from concerts staged above.) Moorefield also talks about being inspired by the Hockey Diversity Alliance and touches on the importance of inclusion and acceptance.
