In this episode of Ampocalypse Damian FitzGerald is joined by Amanda Lyberg of Eva Under Fire to discuss the band’s powerful new album, Villainous. Amanda shares the story behind the record, the inspiration for its themes, collaborating with Maria Brink of In This Moment, and how her background in psychology and therapy has shaped both her songwriting and her outlook on life.
The conversation explores the evolution from Love, Drugs & Misery to Villainous, the strength of the rock community, the emotional impact of personal loss, and why music continues to be such a powerful outlet for healing, resilience and connection. Amanda also looks ahead to taking the new material on the road and what fans can expect from the next chapter of Eva Under Fire.
Then the Ampocalypse arrives.
With humanity preparing to leave Earth behind, Amanda is given responsibility for one of the last colony ships carrying survivors to a new world. As one of the leaders of humanity’s future, she must preserve music’s legacy, rebuild civilisation, decide what deserves a place in the new society, and even create the very first music festival on an entirely new planet. But before the journey begins, she insists on making room for one unexpected luxury: a swimming pool. After all, it’s not just the small luxuries that are important.
