An Appletree

Some lyrics of my own
Song
An Appletree
Dust and ashes, a gray veil,
A heron flies above the tale.
Germany lies in ruins deep,
No one wants to take a peep.
Destroyed the cities, streets are bare,
And rabbits play without a care.
Where life once pulsed with vibrant sound,
Something tragic could be found.
Between the rubble, broken walls,
Hope arises, standing tall.
Sharpened feasts, life is rare,
But a new beginning in the air.
An apple tree, amidst the gray,
Blooms in colors bright and gay.
Symbol of life, despite the pain,
Reminds of good times, come again.
Its roots deep in the earth embrace,
Will nourish it with strength and grace.
Burnt-out roofs and windows blind,
The scars upon our hearts we find,
Will hardly ever heal from this plight,
Fate takes its flight.
Between the stones, barren and hard,
A green leaf sprouts, a new regard.
The apple tree, defying the pain,
Awakens to life, bears a new refrain.
Life rises again, we hardly see,
The apple tree wakes you and me.
Towards the sun it strives, branch by branch,
And gives us hope, a new chance.
Times pass by, wounds start to mend,
An apple tree, its fruits extend.
Rumors fade, life becomes clear,
Nothing strange, no need to fear.
