In Episode 4 of Season 3: Conversations with Creatives, KLG sits down with visual artist and mom of two, Melanie Newson. Melanie is celebrating her 40th birthday while also embracing a transition. She confronts the strong need to express her creativity in addition to the pressure to monetize it, resolving that we often need someone else to remind us that we are allowed to just do what makes us happy. 

A self-described intuitive artist, her creative process often begins with throwing paint on a canvas and feeling her way through a piece. Not unlike her process, Melanie is finding her flow by living the question, “what’s next?” while exploring new creative outlets, avenues and techniques. And to use her words, “there is something very cosmic and delicious about that.
