Karlyn Sullivan-Jones is a former member of the New Zealand Air Force, and a trained counsellor who has just published a great new wellness book. It’s called Be Inspired! Create balance and wellbeing for your mind, body and soul. I spoke with Karlyn about what inspired her to write it.

She worked as a medical professional in Wellington. But suspicions about her background and her relationships with women mean that in 1917 she was imprisoned as a German Spy on Matiu/Somes Island. Winter Pride is an annual event in Queenstown New Zealand for the LGBT community. This year it was cancelled a few days before it started because of a covid outbreak in New Zealand. The cancellation has generated a number of complaints from people who claim the event booking system is unfair and does not allow many customers to receive refunds. To talk about this Andrew Whiteside interviews Martin King, the organiser of the event.

On the 31 July 2021, Auckland Pride Festival Incorporated - the organisation that runs the Auckland Pride Festival its Annual General Meeting and published its annual accounts which showed a deficit of $79,000. Part of that was due to an increase in expenses of $110,000. The statement of financial position for the society as at the 31st July 2021 indicates that it is in debt and liabilities are outweigh assets.
