Cs: Ve starém cihlovém sirotčinci kousek od centra Prahy bylo všude ticho, pouze v dálce bylo slyšet smích dětí.
En: In the old brick orphanage, not far from the center of Praha, there was silence everywhere, except for the distant sound of children's laughter.

Cs: Bylo jaro a zahrady kolem sirotčince se překrásně zelenaly.
En: It was spring, and the gardens around the orphanage were beautifully green.

Cs: Karel, jedenáctiletý chlapec s hnědými vlasy a zvídavýma očima, se procházel po chodbách se zjevným neklidem.
