Along the Oregon trail we go in this 2nd book of the series
Really enjoyed this second book in this series. It's turning out to be a great little series if the other books are as good as the first two. This is about the second sister, Paulina, who travels by wagon train to live with her sister Hannah near Denver City which at that time was in Kansas territory (interesting tidbit). Hannah's story is the first in this series. Paulina's main objective is to find a husband & she is sure from Hannah's letters that there are plenty of prospective husbands in the west ripe for the picking.
But, the fly in the ointment is the wagon train master Samuel. He was a wonderful character that you will immediately fall in love with.
You will get an in depth look at the horrible conditions that the pioneers had to endure just traveling west to start a new life.
Makes you wonder how it was ever settled because of the many obstacles that had to be overcome.
So, Paulina may not make it to her destination as a single woman if Samuel has anything to say about it.
You'll enjoy the heart-warming people you'll meet along the way & if you are a fan of the settling of our great country, you will truly feel like you are right there with the bruised back side from riding in the covered wagon or the blisters on sore feet from walking the many miles they must have walked.
Great read & I'm looking forward to the next book "An Unexpected Annulment."
Just an added note, the sexual content is left for the most part to your imagination which I like this in a book.
Good book, easy read
If you want an easy read and don't have a lot of time, this series is for you. These books go fast. Great adventures.
Paulina and Samuel
I like Paulina story, because she was willing to take an infant child that was not hers to raise as her own. Also the fact that Samuel was determined to keep her alive when she got sick, even though you're in the short time was very inspiring. They show that true love does not take years to happen, but can happen in a short period of time.
