Part 2 - After a ferry service update from PSC Executive Director Donald “Ducks” Cole, Neville James caps off Freedom Week with an appearance from the one and only Positive T. Nelson. In addition to providing an update from his role as the Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture, he discusses the 21st Annual Emancipation Day Freedom Walk and the importance of engaging in this act of remembrance.

Part 1 - The National Weather Service provides an outlook for the Virgin Islands as Tropical Storm Elsa receives the first Cat 1 designation of the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Director Kyle Fleming of the VI Energy Office joins Neville James to break down these projections and reconcile the many issues contributing to WAPA’s inefficiency and instability in this “Emancipation Day style Power Hour.”

Part 2 - Neville James convenes Rocky Liburd and Ronnie Russell to talk COVID-19 and the legality of UVI’s vaccination requirement. They also mull over what’s to be done with GERS and WAPA.

Greaux, Director of Corporate Communications at WAPA, calls in to provide details on the operational challenges that led to the loss of generation capacity at the Randolph Harley Power Plant and what measures the Authority is taking to mitigate these prolonged blackouts.

Part 2 - Neville James transitions into rapid fire with Senator Vialet to address the management of the pandemic, the torpid pace of the territory’s recovery efforts, and how the suspended restart of the refinery will impact the territory’s finances. Ronnie Russell bookends the week with a continued discussion on the future of Limetree Bay.
