Are there any discrepancies or contradictions in the resurrection account? Why does Matthew summarize the events? Why is it important that women received the news of Jesus' resurrection first? How can we trust the biblical narrative of the resurrection? What would it mean if it didn't happen? How did Jesus conquer death and sin? What does it mean to doubt? What is the Great Commission? How is it something all Christians are expected to do?
Welcome back to My Seminary Life. In today's episode, I sit down to review the NPR series Extremely American. After briefly recapping season one which covered Alt-Right Maltia Groups, I focus my attention on season two which took a dive into the ministry of Doug Wilson who is a prominent Christian Nationalist. What does a non-Christian organization have to say about Christian Nationalism? Tune in to find out!

Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. To complete my Challenge to do a double episode drop, today I am back to review Hot Potato starring Jim Kelly. In this review, I trash this film. Some say that Hot Potato is the end of the Blackploitation era and the start of the Kung Fu era. If that's true, I would like a better film to represent that switch off. Besides, there's a whole other film genre that Hot Potato represents very well.

"What's his name? Black Samson. What's his game? He ain't got none."
Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, for the first review of 2026, I discuss Black Samson starring Rackne Tarkington. In this review, I discuss how William Smith's villain character is one of the more fleshed out villains I have seen within the blackploitation genre, and how Black Samson pulls from the Biblical account of the life of Samson for it's source material. Spoiler: Black Samson is a better role model than Bible Samson.

Systematic Geekology
Our show focuses around our favorite fandoms that we discuss from a Christian perspective. We do not try to put Jesus into all our favorite stories, but rather we try to ask the questions the IPs are asking, then addressing those questions from our perspective. We are not all ordained, but we are the Priests to the Geeks, in the sense that we try to serve as mediators between the cultures around our favorite fandoms and our faith communities.
Don't worry, only Kristy has bangs (fringe). But Leah used to. We also continue our twin flame journey by having similar New Year themes, similar glasses, and similar freak outs. 2026 sucks already, but we're here to help.
Join the lively crew of Systematic Geekology as they dive into the delightful fusion of humor, pop culture, and faith at Theology Beer Camp 2025 in St. Paul, Minnesota. In this spirited panel, hosts Will Rose, TJ Blackwell, and Leah Robinson chat with the insightful Rolf Jacobson and Kristy Whaley about how humor serves as a vital coping mechanism in our often heavy lives. They explore the idea that laughter can connect us, even in the most serious discussions of faith and existence. From dissecting the absurdities of life to the role of comedy in fostering community, the conversation flows like a fine ale—rich and refreshing. So, kick back and enjoy as they uncover how humor can illuminate the human experience and perhaps teach us a thing or two about ourselves along the way.

As the panel wraps up, they reflect on iconic examples of humor in pop culture, including the Rocky Horror Picture Show, which serves as a metaphor for liberation and self-expression. They emphasize that humor is not just about making people laugh; it’s a powerful tool for empathy and connection in a world that can often feel divided. With witty banter and thoughtful insights, the panel leaves the audience with a renewed appreciation for the role of humor in their lives, encouraging them to embrace laughter as a way to navigate the complexities of existence.
