Continuing our theme of 'Empowered to Confront and Conquer Shame', Deaconess Tope delivers a powerful sermon on 'Grace in the Face of Shame', drawing from John 8:1-11. Highlighting Jesus' ability to show shame to the woman who committed adultery, and calls on us to to release our own shame, embrace forgiveness, and accept grace for transformation,

A call to God's people to know the fulness of life by getting rid of shame and breaking the chains of shame.

We kick off a new theme for the month of July on being 'Confronting and Conquering Shame'. Drawing from Isaiah 61, we aim to break through to those who:

- Employ shame as weapon of warfare

- Are bounded by shame

- Have been given the mandate to work alongisde Jesus Christ in His mission statement (Luke 4:17)

We were blessed to hear a word from our guest, Dr Ebenezer Gyamera to wrap up May and June's theme 'Old Testament Narratives with Timeless Lessons' with the message titled 'The Problem of Unanswered Prayer'.

In the penultimate message for our theme 'Old Testament Narratives with Timeless Lessons', we delve into the 1 Samuel 15 where we explore the implications of King Saul's failure to obey the Lord's commandent and the deeper spiritual truths behind his downfall - it highlights the danger of partial obedience, the cost of misplaced priorities, and the heart God truly desires from His people.

Drawing from 1 Kings 13:1-34, we see that God's word is supreme—even more powerful than kings—and underscores that partial obedience is disobedience, leading to grave consequences.

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.​

​Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

Looking at the legacies of both King Saul and David:​

Saul started strongly but his kingship ended in tragedy and suicide. Disobedience and the subsequent rejection of his kingship led to his wicked behaviour. His dynasty ended with him.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The nature of man has not changed. Cain, Balaam and Korah are all Old Testament characters and the errors of their ways are still prevalent, much more so in this day and age. And do not forget about Jezebel who is still alive and teaching!
